Project Cortex
Help & support
A small daily rhythm. No account needed.
Start with Daily Practice
Tap Begin on Home. You will practice three Wordcraft words, followed by a second exercise. Complete each exercise to save it. You can choose individual exercises from Practice.
Choose your rhythm
The person icon on Home opens Profile and settings. Add an optional name, choose a goal of one to seven practice days per week, set your Daily focus, and choose a challenge for new Tally and Lightpath sessions.
Pause or end a session
Use Pause to keep your place. Continue returns to the same exercise. Ending an unfinished practice does not create a completed session; completed exercises retain their credit.
What counts toward my weekly goal?
Completing at least one practice counts as one local practice day. Extra sessions stay in your progress history. Session results describe practice and are not a medical assessment or diagnosis.
How do reminders work?
In the installed iPhone app, choose an optional daily reminder and time in Profile and settings, then save. Notification permission is requested only when you enable it. If permission is denied, open iPhone Settings and allow Cortex notifications, then enable the reminder again. Browsers cannot schedule Cortex reminders.
Where is my progress?
The installed iPhone app saves progress and preferences in private native Application Support files. The browser version uses browser local storage. There is no sign-in or app cloud account; a different device or browser has its own data. Clearing browser storage removes browser progress, and uninstalling the iPhone app removes its local files. Device backups follow your operating system settings.
Upgrades copy existing data into native storage before using it. Earlier upgrade copies are kept until you confirm Replace progress or Reset progress; these actions clear the earlier history and recent-content copies after the current saves succeed. Cortex preserves unreadable data and reports save or cleanup failures.
How can I keep a copy, restore, or start over?
Go to Profile and settings → Privacy & your data. Export progress creates a JSON file only when you request it. You choose where to save or share it; Cortex does not upload it automatically. To restore a copy, choose Restore progress and select a Cortex JSON export, up to 8MB. Review the session count and dates, then confirm Replace progress. This replaces saved history and results without merging records; your profile, preferences, and reminders stay. Canceling or a failed restore does not change your current progress. Reset progress asks for confirmation before removing practice history, results, review scheduling, and recent-content choices. It keeps your profile and reminder settings.
A save failed. What should I do?
Keep the app open and try again. Check available device storage. An unsaved-settings message means the change applies for the current visit but may not survive closing the app. Export progress before clearing data or reinstalling.
